More History about Little River Historic Building.

In the 1850's the Reed family constructed sturdy homes of logs
on their adjoining properties.  These structures were built of bur
oak logs cut from the bottom lands along Little River.  The logs
were hewed, squared, notched.  Like other early homes of the
period, they typically had no windows, but did have openings
which could be used as gun ports.  The cabins usually had one
or more fireplaces used for both heating and cooking purposes.
Amenities
Two fireplaces, hardwood floors, large spacious rooms, wide hall,
warm, inviting, and rich space.  The cabin is located in a quiet
park-like setting.
